What is Digital Marketing Today?

Digital marketing is the use of the Internet, social media, websites, emails, and all our electronic devices to make your business more accessible to new customers.

Digital marketing is on the rise as more and more people are using the Internet and social media to get their jobs done and play.

In today's digital world, marketing is about connecting with your potential customers in the right place at the right time, building trust, educating them on the latest styles, and setting up your business as a solution to their needs.

This means you need to discover, share, and grow your business on your customers' terms, with answers to their questions.

The digital marketing strategy includes a range of marketing activities such as content marketing, email marketing, optimization of search engines, mobile marketing and more. We have therefore compiled a list of digital marketing strategies used by world-renowned brands.

 Combine SEO and Content Marketing

SEO is nothing new. For a long time, SEO has been the work of keywords and coding. Google became smarter. So, while SEO is obvious, we've discovered that combining SEO and content marketing is one of the most effective marketing strategies we'll see in 2022.

Today, many metrics included in the Google algorithm are related to content (even Google acknowledges this) and profitable engagement in the distribution of good content. Using different types of content (visual, text, video, infographics, audio, etc.) does much better than using the same type of content.

Extra Content: As more businesses embrace content marketing, competition continues to intensify. Everything you do online is immersed in sound and information. To move forward, each business needs to publish better and more content.

According to HubSpot data, publishing at least once a week is important for ROI, and the ROI decreases significantly if you publish less. However, it is not about price compared to quality, but a good combination of both.

Important Content: Content should be fun, informative, and empathetic. Important content responds to the purpose of a search or a query in a search engine but is also organised in a way that encourages interaction, such as your email subscription, sharing, commenting, and other actions that contribute to ROI.

Original content: content can be audio, video, or text, but if you use one or more of these digital formats, make sure it is good and unique. If you are not able to create unique, compelling, and good content on your own, you can hire an expert to create your website content and social media. This is where you will need a more powerful content marketing plan than ever before.

As you can see in this infographic from Occam's Razor (so clever man! ), you need to produce relevant content for each stage of the conversion process (and your metrics need to match your goal with each piece of content).

Knowing where a visitor is in the conversion process is not always easy. However, if you have done a good job of coding the content (using tracking codes to find out what kind of content drove him to visit your site) and using tools that allow you to track where visitors have been before, you can make guesses and learn what content they need.

By delivering the right content at the right time, you are more likely to turn visitors into customers.

Access is essential. When you bring in more visitors to your site, all things being equal, your ROI increases. This is one of the reasons why it is important to have a few social media platforms and have links to your content so that visitors can share your content easily.

As my daughter will tell you, if you share on Instagram more than once, she will never follow you!In addition to sharing your content, you should also share content created by other companies or specialists. Many experts recommend that you share 20% of your promotional content with 80% of the other important content you receive.

Have a Visible Presence on Relevant Communication Platforms.

Visibility on the Internet is the key to the success of all businesses, especially in today's world where almost every digital business is dependent on it. It’s one way to stand out from the crowd.

For this reason, you need to build your online presence on related social media networks. Note that there are many social networks available, but you need to identify where your customers spend the most time and direct them there. Choose those that are relevant to your business and prospects and build your online presence there.

Also keep in mind that social media is not a place to put your products (unless your surname is Kardashian). Social media is for sharing and engaging. But social media is not the best digital marketing channel to showcase business growth.

Customize Your Website With First-Mobile Browsing

To ensure that your content is compatible with mobile devices, make sure that your website and social networks are available on desktops and mobile devices. Customers use most smartphones and tablets to access the web.

Therefore, it is important to make your website and content accessible to users of all screen sizes. Update your website design using the latest trends and colour schemes.

Make Use of the Proper Tools

Digital marketing combines different strategies aimed at a wide range of channels, such as SEO, PPC, social media, and so on.

To ensure that you have an integrated marketing mix, you need the right digital marketing tools to help you run successful campaigns. You also need to develop the skills to use them and to use the information in the right context.

 Be Skilled in Design

The design supports many of the factors that make digital marketing a success. Whether you are designing a website, landing page, or creating your own website image, ad, or infographic, you need to have good design skills. Not all of us are whiz kids when it comes to design, but there are tools to help.

Canva is a great tool for creating social media images, whether you need them on your profile or as photos to post in a post. One of my favourite Canva features are templates that help to create beautiful looking images even if you don't know anything about the layout or what fonts are compatible. They constantly add new images and tools, such as infographic templates, to help you.

Photoshop (given that it is expensive), is a great design tool. Fortunately, you can now get all the creative cloud in Adobe for as little as $29/month if you are in school and more that you can use in business. It was very difficult to use Photoshop, but now there are tonnes of tutorials on YouTube and Photoshop that include a little tutorial when you hover over the buttons.

Make an email list.

Email is still an active driver of digital marketing ROI. In fact, email generates a 36 percent return on investment for every dollar spent! But you have to do it right.

Make sure your website includes a newsletter email subscription form. Bring important content to your subscribers, not just advertising. Tell stories.

Digital Advertising Spending

Now listen, a lot of people are spending on digital ads. Very few can show any ROI at all. (If so, please let me know. I'd like to tell you your story.

Digital advertising, including PPC (one-click payment) Google ads, YouTube ads, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, Snapchat, and Tiktok, are all things you can check out to bring about digital marketing success.

We have tried everything. One approach we have found that brings relevant traffic, engages visitors, and changes leads is what we call contextual content promotion. We find your target audience wherever they are on the web and give them an ad. But it is not an ad for your product. and an ad for your content.

Then we collect those viewers in the redirect pool. And we beat them with offers like e-books, webinars, and free guides. This allows us to deliver CPCs 80% lower than the average and CTRs 4-5 times higher than the average.

Make use of infographics

People love infographics because they are popular. Note that our brain can process images, which must be faster than text. An image costs a thousand words, and people will share them more often than text.

Here are some examples of the best content infographics created by amazing advertisers and used to engage their audience.

Examine Your Statistics

It is almost another spectrum limit from creating analytics, but that is exactly the combination you need to succeed in digital marketing. Google Analytics is ready to understand the key features of your website and how visitors engage with it. If you are trying to learn how to get data from Google Analytics, you can use Google Data Studio to scan it using data from the Google e-commerce site.

For statistics outside of Google Analytics, many good tools are available. You can use individual statistics from each social network (i.e., Facebook, Pinterest, etc.), you can bring them all together in one place using a dashboard system like Cognos (from IBM), or you can pay for a powerful tool to get more insight.

Align Strategies and Campaigns Across All Channels

Integrated into all of these strategies can be a real challenge, especially in a large company where different groups may hold different forums or where different advertising agencies handle different marketing aspects, such as content, paid, and social marketing. But, combined, you should achieve real digital marketing success.

A big part of conversion is frequency, and unless the effort is combined, you lose frequency.

Let’s talk about how you do integration into all of these strategies that contribute to the success of digital marketing.
